Precious Piece of Advice for Religious Servants

Ubqari Magazine - December 2013

Preacher of Islam Hazrat Mulana Muhammad Kaleem Sidiqqui Mudhzillah (Phalat)

Hazrat Maulana Damat Barakathum is a great Aalim of Islam. Almost 5 lacks people have accepted Islam on his hand. His most famous book “Naseem hidhayat k Jonkay” is worth reading.

He gathered people before travelling for telling his will. People thought that Islam says to tell wills before going for tour. It is narrated in some books that he is a big sinner who spent two or three nights and he could not tell his heirs about his will. Hazrat Muhammad  ﷺ said:

وما حق امرئ مسلم لہ شیء یو صی فیہ یبیت لیلتین الا ووصیتہ مکتو بتہ عندہ (متفق علیہ)

If someone wants to tell his will then he is not allowed to spend two nights without writing it, Hazrat Maulana might be trying to act on this saying.  People gathered in the mosque markaz nizam-u-din bangla and he called more people. Then he showed his brief will.  That is a guiding light for the workers of religion. It is worthy to be written with golden words. It is an effective remedy for the diseases which appear in the workers of Islam. Meaning of his will was these words “Think! Are you serving the religion because it is a trend and as a general practice or as a habit or you doing it for fame and name or for money or you doing it without your wish? If you are connecting people then see to whom are you connecting them; either to a league, to a specific personality or with Allah and His Messenger (Peace be Upon Him)”.

After this brief and deep will he went for travelling and he died in Pakistan during this journey. People felt later that he not only acted upon the order of last will but he had advised generally to all friends, whole Ummah and religious servants.

We perform many prayers as a general practice and because it is a trend. Ramadan comes and it is a trend to keep fasts so, we fast. Eid comes; it is a trend to sacrifice animals so we do it.  We have to do it! What can we do we are connected to a group; it has become a symbol for us; we have to do this religious act.  We also do it habitually; it is a habit to offer namaz and recite Tasbee. In the same way many other acts of religion are habit.  It is done for popularity and fame; people praise and believe in us.  We do it for money, to have gifts from people by inspiring them from our religious acts. These purposes are standing parallel with the happiness of Allah and His Messenger (Peace be Upon Him), which force us to act religiously.  And it is obvious with the effect of these false purposes, no act can be religious. Except this, we connect people with Allah and his Messenger PBUH and also connect them with organizations, committees and personalities; this itself is a sign of absence of sincerity. Surely in today’s era, this ‘will’ is needed to be written on hearts.
